Anxiety over dissolution, duty free vehicles

by a staff correspondent

The spectre of dissolving Parliament haunts several parliamentarians from the South as well as the North. They are concerned not about the money spent on frequent elections but about the duty-free vehicles that are to be imported for them.

The most troubled among them is the National List parliamentarian who is famous for his fiery speeches in support of Tamil Eelam. During the last few days the King of Eelam made several pleas to the ministry which is responsible for the import of these vehicles to speed up the process so that he could get the vehicle before the dissolution of the Parliament. According to Constitutional Affairs and National Integration Ministry parliamentarians would not be able to sell these vehicles.

Will they be able to find buyers who could pay the full cost and tax for these imported vehicles?
