Girls High School, Kandy trounced Pushpadana Girls College, Kandy 59-15 to become champions at the inaugural Kandy District girls basketball championship for the 'Sydney Romould Sylvestors' memorial shield organised by the Old Antonians Cagers Club in the finals played at the St. Anthony's College Courts at Katugastota yesterday. At half time Girls High School led 38-10.

It was a brilliant display by the Girls High School cagers who attacked relentless from the word go to amaze a big score. The top scorers for Girls High School were controller Anusha Jayaweera, (20), forward Shifaya Abbas (15). For Pushpadana forward S. Priyadharshani contributed 8 points. Ranil Suranga and Gihan Karunasinghe officiated.
