Six Lankans for World Golfers C'ships

Six Sri Lankans were picked after two qualifying rounds by the Sri Lanka Golf Union (SLGU) to represent the country at the World Goflers Championships to be worked off at Gloria Resort, Antalya, Turkey from November 19 to 26.

Players from the Royal Colombo Club (RCGC), Nurawa-Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) and the Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VG&CR) competed at the trials on September 17 and 18 at the Ridgeways and the nett aggregate winners from six handicap categories were picked.

The six Sri Lankans are - Arshad Ahmed (Handicap 0 to 5), Sunil Jayakoddy (Handicap 6 to 10), Dilip Kodikara (Handicap 11 to 15), Shavinda Fonseka (Handicap 16 to 20), Ranjith Jayawardene (Handicap 21 to 25) and Lakshman Jayasekera (Handicap 26 to 30).

Pash India conducted these trials in collaboration with the SLGU, and the sponsors, The World Lifestyle creators will make it possible for the six Sri Lankans to fly to Turkey.

President of SLGU, Dian Jayasuriya, Abhai Varma from the sponsors and Chit Ranjan Bakshi, the representative from Pash India distributed the awards.
