SMLL net income up 137% to Rs. 122.26 m in 3 Q Seylan Merchant Leasing Limited (SMLL), the leasing services specialist of the Ceylinco Group, has reported strong results for the nine months ending September 30, 2005 on the back of healthy growth in net income. In results released to the Colombo Stock Exchange, the company reported a 137.9 per cent increase in net income from Rs. 51.39 million at end September last year to Rs. 122.26 million for the first nine months of this year. Profitability also increased during the period under review with pre-tax profits of the company rising to Rs. 21.1 million, up 28.8 per cent. Post-tax profit at Rs. 20.7 million reflected a growth of 27 per cent. With the expansion of SMLL's branch network, total assets of the company grew by a healthy 171.7 per cent to Rs. 1.2 billion for the period under review, up Rs. 758.9 million from the corresponding period last year. The earnings per share of the company grew to 2.05 for the first nine months of 2005, an increase of 27 per cent. |
