SriLankan Airlines champion shuttlers

SriLankan Airlines were adjudged the men's and women's overall championships of the Mercantile Badminton Association (MBA) Dulux Inter-Firm Championships sponsored by CIC Paints (Pvt) Ltd at the S. Thomas' College Indoor Stadium, Mount Lavinia.

Pacific Sports won the Men's 'A' Division with Sampath Bank as the runners-up, while Commercial Bank won the 'B' Division where Ceylinco were the runners-up. SriLankan Airlines won both the 'C' and 'D' Division with Mobitel and Nations Trust Bank as the runner-up. John Keells and Aitken Spence won the 'E' and 'F' Divisions respectively with IFS and Seylan Bank as runners-up. MacLarens won the Veterans title with SriLankan Airlines as the runners-up.

In the Women's section, Seylan Bank won the 'A' Division with Hatton National Bank (HNB) as the runner-up, while the 'B' Division was won by McLarens with Union Bank of Pakistan as runners-up. Data Entry won the 'C' Division with Janashakthi as runners-up, while the 'D' Division was won by SriLankan Airlines with IFS as the runners-up. McLarens won the Veterans title with HNB as runners-up.

Duminda Jayakoddy of Pacific Sports and Chandrika de Silva of Seylan Bank were adjudged the best performers among the men and women respectively in the 'A' Division, while Lasitha Ranasinghe (Commercial Bank) and Namali Erandathi (McLarens) won the 'B' Division titles. In the 'C' Division, Nuwan Rodrigo of SriLankan Airlines and Harshani Tennekoon of Data Entry were adjudged the best performers among the men and women respectively. The 'D' Division winners were D. M. I. Jayasinghe of SriLankan Airlines (men) and Dilini Pathirajah also of SriLankan Airlines (women).

Nalin Delpachithra of John Keells and Aruna Suminda of Aitken Spence were adjudged the best performers in the men's 'E' and 'F' divisions respectively, while among the veterans, Ajith Wijeyesinghe of McLarens (men) and Gina Reckermann also of McLarens were adjudged the best performers.

Graham Marshall, Head of Marketing of CIC Paints (Pvt) Limited was the chief guest, while the awards ceremony was held at the Palm Beach Hotel, Mount Lavinia.
