Except the loss of lives, the government is committed to provide the tidal wave battered families with all facilities for leading a happy and contented existence. The government would be very grateful to all foreign countries donor agencies and non governmental organisations for their unstinted co-operation in tsunami recovery activities in the country he said. Expeditions action has also been taken to reconstruct 4000 houses destroyed by the tidal wave catastrophe in safer locations in the Southern region Work on resettlement of displaced families is in progress in the district of Matara.
