Sri Lanka National Chess Championship 2006 conducted by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka started and it will be held at Union Assurance Auditorium this weekend and another 5 rounds will be played next weekend 24, 25 and 26th Feb. at Hotel Topaz, Kandy.

The best 14 men and 14 women Chess players were selected for this year's finals and five players from each category will be selected for this year's chess Olympiad which will be held in Italy in May.
