UCLL wins gold award Union Chemicals Lanka Limited (UCLL), formerly an affiliate of Union Carbide Corporation, USA, clinched the overall Gold award at the National Productivity Awards 2004, organised by the National Productivity Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour Relations and Foreign Employment. The awards ceremony was held at the BMICH recently under the patronage of Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake. UCLL who was the winner of the National Productivity Award 2003 in the Manufacturing Sector - Small Scale Category, manufactures synthetic latex used as adhesives, paint binders, textile printing binders and auxiliary products in related applications. The company is accredited with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Standards and ISO 14001:1996 Environmental Management Standards offered by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution. UCLL has excelled in the areas of 5S Housekeeping, Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility by winning the National Awards in the respective areas. |
