Kelani Cables - safety No 1 priority by Deepal Warnakulasuriya Kelani Cables Ltd introduced its new logo to the local and international market and pledged to be the first in safety. Introducing the new logo and the brand proposition titled 'For Safety, Kelani Cables' in a bid to reposition their product of cables as the safest in the country, Kelani Cables Ltd Managing Director Hemantha Perera said that their products had always prioritised reliability and safety during the last 37 years. The Kelani Cables Managing Director said that they were the first among cable manufacturers to receive the SLS certificate in 1975 and were awarded the ISO 9001 certificate in 2000, and an international UL quality award in 2004 which opened the doors for their products in the European market. He said that Kelani Cables had now expanded to India, Maldives and Japan. "Compared to the financial year 2002 - 2003 we have increased our products by 65 per cent in 2004-2005 with a significant sales increase by 100 per cent. Kelani Cables, Trade Manager Anil Munasinghe told the Sunday Observer that the company's production process was nationally appreciated with the 'Taiki Akimoto' award last year. The company targeted a sales revenue of Rs 1.2 billion for 2005 and also a 20 per cent growth this year. |
