Look for the Whirlwind website by Rikaza Hassan Whirlwind, the pioneer shri metal band in Sri Lanka and recent winner of the first ever Sri Lanka Original Awards 2005 in the rock/metal category have finally got their website www.whirlwindrocks.com up and running. Featuring everything you need to know about the band including the bio, profile, reviews as well as the latest news round-up on Whirlwind. But perhaps the best feature of the website that should most certainly appeal to local fans is the free downloads.
Currently available at the site is the video for Mindbender - the first ever local metal video, the Mindbender audio as well as videoclips from the Whirlwind Unleashed concert that was held at the Cafe D'Artist on January 21 2006. According to Misha, the first ever live music dvd in Sri Lanka - the Unleashed DVD plus the audio album will be released out in to the public and in to your hands this coming May. The Whirlwind record label - Groove Digger, an attempt to harvest the original talent within international standards, also completed work on their website www.groove-digger.com last Monday. It contains information, free downloads of pictures and clips of the bands they've signed up including the black metal pioneers - Siblings of Hatred, Spleen Saint and Inhuman plus regular updates of these artistes' progress.
