Formula Plus Mahagastota Hill climb April 9 by Ananda Kannangara `Formula Plus Mahagastotte Hill Climb 2006', organised by the Ceylon Motor Sports Club (CMSC) for the second consecutive year will take place at Mahagastotte Estate in Nuwara Eliya on April 9 (Sunday). Sri Lanka Insurance will sponsor this years event under the banner of their specialist motor policy "Formula Plus". The course in this case is 675 yards of a steep climb on a tarred surface. Drivers and riders compete against the clock, with each competitor running on his/her own and a time being recorded from the start to the finish. According to the rules of the event, vehicles are put into classes as set out by the governing body for the sport and the winner is each class is determined by the quickest time recorded. Each competitor has two runs up the hill and the quicker of the two times recorded is used. At a media briefing held in Colombo recently, Motor Insurance, Consultant Suren Galagoda highlighted that Sri Lanka Insurance (SLI) has earned the trust of the motoring public for the last 40 years and they are one of the insurers widely known in the industry of their very own `Collision and Repair Centre'. The SLI also presented Rs. five lakhs to the CMSC as the sponsorship
