Commercial leasing profit after tax grows 26% to Rs. 209 million Commercial Leasing Company Limited, one of the leading specialized players in the leasing industry recorded a significant growth during the financial year 2005 in terms of total volume of business and profits. Displaying its best ever performance in history, the company induced new business of Rs. 3.76 billion in 2005, a remarkable growth of 49% when compared to Rs. 2.53 billion recorded in the previous year. Signifying an impressive 32% growth, pre tax profit reached Rs. 313 million, an increase of Rs. 76 million over the previous year. Profit after tax was Rs. 209 million, an increase of 26% over the previous year's Rs. 165 million. "Commercial Leasing Company performed exceptionally displaying consistent growth in terms of revenue and profit throughout the last three years," said Dr. H. S. Dilanjan Soysa, General manager/ CEO. "Appreciation of our share price by over 81% from Rs. 94.25 at close of 2004, to Rs. 170.25 as at the end of 2005 is a reflection of confidence and loyalty the shareholders have in us. Shareholder returns too have increased substantially by 24% with Earnings Per Share rising to Rs. 17.26 compared to Rs. 13.91 in 2004. We also paid a dividend of 45% in 2005, the highest ever dividend in the history of the company", he said. |
