Lanka, Pakistan to set up Business Council The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up a Joint Business Council (JBC) during President Mahinda Rajapaksa's visit to Pakistan. The business representatives of Sri Lanka and Pakistan feel the need to set up a cooperative body on a private initiative so as to bring closer together the business communities of the two countries. The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCI Sri-Lanka) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) are in agreement to set up a Joint Business Council to provide a forum for more systematic business promotional activities in trade, investment, technology transfer, services and other industrial sectors. The JBC agreement will provide a regular and recognised platform for discussions on promotion of these activities between businessmen and industrialists of the two countries.
