Excellence in Education
 Students of British School in Colombo have achieved top honours at
the London Edexcel public examinations.
Two students from British School in Colombo have done well in their
International General Certificate of Secondary Education (International
equivalent of the traditional O level. They were placed among the top
ten in the world.
Amishkha Weerasinghe was ranked 4th in the world in Physics and Cain
Yee was ranked 6th in the world in Chemistry.
They will each receive a special award at the Edexcel ceremony to be
held at BMICH on August 28. The British School in Colombo is now housed
in its new premises along Elivitigala Mawatha in Colombo 8 and has been
an officially registered centre for London Edexcel examinations since
1995.
The school follows an international curriculum preparing students to
sit the International General Certificate of Secondary Education
examinations at the end of form 5/year 10. Students may then opt sixth
form level to study either Advanced Level courses or the International
Baccalaureate Diploma programme, both of which fulfil admissions
requirements for entry to degree courses at overseas universities. |
