Indian slicers clinch SAG Championship

The Indian Men's and Women's teams clinched the Carrom Championship
of the 10th South Asian Games which was worked off at the White Heaven
Hotel, Panadura, recently.
Sri Lanka emerged runner-up in both Men's and Women's categories and
the 2nd runner-up in the Men's event was Sri Lanka 'B' team. The
Maldives won the 3rd place in the Women's event. The Pakistan team was
knocked out in the first round.
Meanwhile Ravindra Gudd of India beat his team-mate Yogesh Paradeshi
(18/25, 25/12, 25/24) to bag the Individual event. Runner-up position
was secured by Yogesh Paradeshi while Chamil Cooray defeated P.
Sapidaman of India (25/22, 25/6) to finish in third place.
Meanwhile Rashmi Kumari of India emerged champion of the Women's
event while I. Ilavashati and P. Nirmala won the 2nd and 3rd places
respectively. The main sponsor for this event was The Finance and
