Indian rowing team strikes gold
Indian Oarsmen rowed with great endurance, strength and power to win
all four events. (Single sculls, double sculls, coxless pair, coxless
fours) and take all four gold meddles on Rowing competition of the 10th
South Asian Game held on the Bolgoda Lake.
In the first event on the opening day Indian Sculler Bajrangal Takhar
got into early lead rowing with great ease and maintain the lead to the
finish line with a good time of 07:24:64 Secs.
The Indian Sculler combined with Sunil Kumar to win the Double Sculls
'clocking' 06:43:57 Secs; to overcome the Pakistan combination. Indian
rowers continued to dominate on the new venue at Bolgoda Lake winning
the third successive Gold in the Coxless pairs event. Dharmesh Sangwan
and Satinish Joshi used perfect balance and power to win the event with
a time of 06:49:24 Secs.
The last event of the day Coxless fours was also won by India - the
fourth gold a fine achievement by Manoj Augustine (B) Gurdarshan Singh
(2) Sukhjeet Singhe (3) Jenil Krishnan (s) rowed with teamwork of high
quality and perfect coordination to win the event with a time of 06:19:1
