The dollar vultures, mostly born Sinhala, bankrolled by the vested interests and the NGO rogues make huge commotions and protests when there are deaths involving Tamils or there are military setbacks for the terrorist outfit.

They make use of these incidents to incorrectly portray them as discriminations against the Tamil community while concealing and covering up the blatant terrorist involvements in heinous murders.

Massacre of Sinhalese or Muslims by the terrorist outfit are non events for these dollar vultures and if such an event happens to turn out serious, they would reset no stone unturned to absolve the real perpetrators of such crime and raise the finger of accusation towards the security forces and the government.

Taking the lead given by the TamilNet website we can expect these vile dollar vultures competing with each other within the next few days to place the blame on the government and security forces for the 10 innocent Muslim workers killed by the anti-Muslim Tiger Terrorists, which bears all the hallmarks of its previous brutal massacres.

Tiger terrorists have a perpetual hatred towards the Muslims since they have become a main impediment to attain their illusory Eelam objective. Although majority of Muslims remain politically conservative and naive, foolishly supporting the non benefactor UNP as far as the subject of terrorist aggression is concerned they have remained united as a single force opposing the terrorist aggression and standing against the vicious schemes to segregate this nation.

The terrorist LTTE confiscated several thousand acres of Muslim owned paddyfields in the Eastern Province during their honeymoon with Ranil Wickremasinghe under the ignominious CFA, and most of these high yielding paddy lands were left uncultivated to deprive income for the owners as well as a source of food for the nation.

Mavil Aru anicut closure was such an attempt to prevent harvesting cultivated paddyfields in time. The innocent Pottuvil victims have ventured 12 miles into the jungle territory to clean the Sluice Gates of the Radella Tank, under the Heda Oya project. The victims had been blindfolded, tied their hands behind and ruthlessly murdered by cutting their throats and causing multiple injuries to their bodies.

The only survivor was taken to the Kalmunai hospital and had later been transferred to the Ampara hospital.

It is appreciable that the President, in the midst of his busy U.N.visit schedule, responding to appeals made by several Muslim organisations and politicians has instructed government authorities to conduct detailed and impartial enquiries into this horrendous massacre, and take appropriate action speedily to punish/expose those responsible.

The government has also strongly deplored this heinous act of terrorism and extended its deepest sympathy to the families of those killed. As per newspaper reports arrangements have also been made by the government to grant compensation to the families of victims.

However, Rauf Hakeem also attempted to use the Pottuvil incident to demand international involvement in Sri Lanka which is a main milestone of the millionaire group Anti-War Front in which he is an active participant.

This is not the first time that the terrorist LTTE has brutally murdered innocent civilians blindfolded, hands tied on the backs and hacked to death. This is one of the main hallmarks of the terrorists in addition to suicide bombings, blasting bombs in crowded environments and blasting claymore mines.

The murder of over 600 police personnel surrendered to them on the instruction of former President Premadasa also underwent the same methodology of execution except that those innocent souls were murdered by firing from a close range, probably due to the large number involved.

There will be frantic efforts by the treacherous dollar vultures and even foreign elements patronizing the terrorist outfit within the next few days to absolve the terrorists from responsibility for these heinous Pottuvil murders and accuse the government instead. In order to counter such irresponsible allegations listed below are some of the identical murders carried out by the tiger terrorists that would clear any and all doubts, whoever may hold.

This brand of murder by "hacked to death" commenced in the infantile stage of tiger terrorism, long before it mastered in the art of ruthless suicide-bombing. The first victims of this brand of terrorism were Ven. Indrasara Thero and 33 other young monks brutally murdered by cutting into pieces with swords at Arantalawa on 2nd June, 1987, dipping the whole Sri Lanka in sorrow and grief.

The monks who were en-route to Kelaniya Temple in a bus on this day were stopped by a gang of about 20 terrorists armed with swords. The bus was diverted to the jungle area and after forcing the monks out of the bus, they were cut into pieces without showing any mercy to their continuous pleading to spare their lives.

Given below are details of some other similar murders by the "hacked to death" method carried out by this inhuman gang.

Hacked to death 13 villagers on 17.03.1988 , at Deegavapiya, Damana, Ampara.

Hacked to death 16 villages on 28.07.1988, at Weli Oya.

Killed 11 villagers by cutting their necks on 25.08.1988 at Marawila Polonnaruwa.

Hacked to death 112 villagers at Bogamuyaya in Maha Oya on 02.02.1989.

Hacked to death 19 at Medawachchiya on 26.07.1990.

Hacked to death 9 persons at Maha Oya on 30.09.1990.

Hacked to death 25 villagers on 23.01.1991. 4 others succumbed to injuries later.

Hacked to death 17 persons at Moneragala on 14.04.1991.

Hacked to death another 21 in Moneragala six days later on 20.04.1991.

Shot and hacked to death 172 (171 of them Muslims) at Palliyagodella, Polonnaruwa on 15.10.1992.

Hacked to death 19 persons at Kotiyagala on November 1995.

Hacked to death 14 villagers at Eluwankulam, Puttalam on 11.06.1996.

62 persons were hacked to death at Gonagala, Ampara on 18.09.1999.

These victims included 2 pregnant women and 14 children.

No further proof is required to determine who the culprits were at Pottuvil. Tiger terrorists have mastered this primitive method and there could be no other terrorist gang in the world that has murdered this much of innocent unarmed persons in the course of their terrorist existence.

Latest reports reveal the sole survivor 60 year old Kareem Meera Mohideen, undergoing treatment at Ampara Hospital has confirmed giving a statement to the Police that a group of Tiger terrorists armed with guns, sickles, knives and axes stormed them and abducted him to the forest blind folded.

He has claimed that these tigers attacked with sickles, knives and axes after it became dark. He has also said that he was hit by an axe and a sickle but escaped by pretending to be dead.

Apollo hospital

When this hospital first came to Colombo we were all so happy as we felt that we will no longer have to travel to India for treatment. Until then many Sri Lankans went through all the travails of travelling to Madras accompanied by family members for treatment at the famous Apollo Hospital.

They always spoke well of the care they received from the doctors and nurses.

Following a car accident in February 2003 my parents and I were hospitalized at Apollo. My father was there for three weeks and my mother for six weeks. So it is with much sadness that I read in The Island of Friday, Sept 15 that with the new ownership of the hospital that the Indian doctors and nurses will be returning to India.

We noticed a big difference between the attitude of the nursing staff at Apollo and our local nurses. In our hospitals the first question they ask when a patient is admitted is whether a family member will be staying with the patient. If not, they are very anxious to fix up an attendant.

At Apollo it was not necessary as the nurses were always on call. In the hospitals here I have noticed that the nurses like to be at the nursing stations - chatting. Buying up shares and gaining ownership of an established hospital is easy. But to manage and run a hospital keeping to the standards required will be an uphill task.
