The United States yesterday pledged its continuous support to the Government in its effort to combat terrorism.

US Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher conveyed this message when he met President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday at the Temple Trees. He said the US condemed the recent LTTE suicide attacks on naval forces in Habarana and the Dakshina Naval Base in Galle.

He also said the US was strongly opposed to terrorism and it would give all support to Sri Lanka in its quest for peace.
