Your love luck and married life with Feng-shui:

Both for singles and doubles...

Asiri Wanigaratne advocates the Sunday Observer readers on how he has improved his luck in many aspects using the famous Chinese Feng-shui secrets. We hope you readers too would get some benefit out of this, and empower yourself to lead a happy, contended and dynamic life.

Today's article would be partly a continuation of last week's which gave you the general introduction of Feng-shui. As it was said in our first article, go to the centre of your house or business spot, and mark the eight directions (such as East, West, South, North....) by using a compass. Each direction represents an important aspect of your life. Now, it's time to improve each direction by using various Feng-shui symbols to draw the cosmic energy around us.

The most important thing is that you should not fail to keep your place as neat and tidy as possible without any debris and dirt. Refer the chart (diagram -1) given.

South West

South West (SW) is considered as the direction for marriage and wife. Asiri, our Feng-shui master stresses that every house should have this area nicely built. "In some houses the South West division is a missing area. Especially the houses which are built to an 'L' shape have no SW which represents 'wife' and 'married life'.

I have personally known cases of those who lived in such houses. In many cases, although the husbands had 'much ado about nothing', the irritated wife walked away leaving him. My advice is that you had better either demolish the 'L' shape division that makes the SW area missing, or else adjoin a SW area by constructing the missing part of the building," he says. In the Diagram -2 , 'B' symbolises the missing South West area.

The other two remedies for you to improve the SW is to arm the missing area with the elements meant for that direction. Earth is the realm for the South West. By placing clay pots, clay bells, ceramic wind chimes and lighting a yellow bulb for more than ten hours of the day in that area would help one to decrease the evil energy which generates that area which affects the married life. Refer diagram-2.

If you are about to build your house and if it is a must to entangle the 'L' shape area (due to today's lack of land space), then build such area without joining to the main house building. You can do it by placing a polythene in between the two foundations and placing a regifoam in between the two walls (of the main house and the division), and constructing the two roofs separately without joining each other. But, none would figure out that it's built separately.

Bathroom and storeroom would be the worst thing for the SW. In case the SW of your house is already having such things, then always remember to keep these areas very clean. Keep the SW bathroom dry and tap leaks free, and always keep the commode closed with its pane.

Hang a wind chime on the roof just behind the bathroom door so that each time you open it, the chime tinkles. You can either hang it near the bathroom tae-light (window) and let it jingle in the wind.

Keep some perfumeric soap or scented air-wick and a green plant with round leaves in the bathroom. These will also help to reduce the bad energy in this area.

If the storeroom of the SW is full of debris and dust there tend to be a lot of stress between the husband and wife. So remember to keep your storeroom also clean.

Don'ts in the SW

The bedroom which the husband and wife use is the other crucial area where one has to pay a lot of attention. Keep the place tidy and free of debris. Never keep anything under the bed. And if the bed is under a beam you and your spouse tend to get into unhappy arguments always.

If you keep any equipment that place water in the bedroom such as a small refrigerator, water filter or a fish tank you two tend to reduce physical attachment with each other. Even a picture of water should not be kept.

'Mirror, Mirror, on wall'... Mirror is something we cannot live without. Hence we tend to keep it in our bedroom. But, according to the Feng-shui, a mirror around you can bring a lot of bad results. If you have no other place to place the mirror other than the bedroom, then at least close it with a screen. And an oval or round shape mirror is said to be better than squares or rectangles.

Never keep the mirror to focus your bed, as it might provoke either of you to get involved in a clandestine love affair. Even if you have a TV or a computer in your bedroom, remember not to turn its screen to focus towards your bed, and cover them up when not using.

But if you are a single person, who is waiting for Mr. or Miss. keeping a mirror in front of your bed would provide you with immense luck in your love life. But once you meet him or her change the position of the mirror as soon as possible.

Your sleeping bed is a chief element which can make your relationship with your partner/spouse either powerful or weak.. Some keep two single beds together instead of a double bed. Asiri's advice is that the husband and wife should share the same bed. In case you have a new born baby to nurse, if you have to sleep beside the baby, that is quite alright for a short time.

But make sure you are not going to continue it for long. If you want to improve your love luck more, then keep a Double Happiness symbol under your double bed mattress. It should be placed around your lower body.

Do not keep anything under the bed as you would then tend to get into at least a trivial argument with your partner. Also, avoid keeping fresh flowers in the bedroom, and never keep the dried flowers anywhere at home.

What are the lucky symbols for the South West? Get two white small Thirivana stones, clean them well after keeping them in salted water for about two-three days and wash them thoroughly.

Once they are dry tie them together with a red ribbon and hang them in the South West corner of the bedroom.

Get a nice photo of the husband and wife in a happy and adorable sequence. Frame and place it in your bedroom. But pictures or photographs of single human beings including yourself or your spouse might bring misfortune to your bedroom whether you are single or double. So always keep pictures of more than one figure.

Colours play a major role in Feng-shui. You can improve your love relationship with your partner by lighting a yellow bulb for more than ten hours in the South West of your bedroom. And if you want to improve your sex life light a red bulb there. Mandarin ducks, double happiness symbol, mystic knot symbol and any ornament in pairs are a few of the other lucky symbols that come along with the Feng-shui method for love luck.
