Stafford Motors invests Rs. 45 m to improve workshops
 

Stafford Motor Co, Ltd., The sole distributor of Honda vehicles, Honda and Hero Honda motor-cycles has invested Rs. 45 million to improve the Rattanapitiya motor-cycle complex and the infrastructure facilities of their workshops.

The Honda Motorcycle sales showroom, motor-cycle and spare parts store, motor-cycle assembling unit and the motor-cycle technician training centre are housed at the Rattanapitiya motor-cycle complex. At present Stafford Motors enjoys a 30 percent market share of the motor-cycles sales.

The monthly sales of brand new motor-cycles of all brands are over 12,500 according to the Registrar of motor vehicles. Reconditioned Japanese motor-cycles are imported by various traders direct from Japan.

The Managing Director of Stafford Motor Company Ltd., Dr. Kalinga Kaluperuma said that technically advanced efficient after sales team and islandwide dealer network are essential to attend to the needs of motor-cycles owners.

"The company believes that its real potential depends on the strength and capabilities of its team members in a rapidly changing and challenging scenario. All efforts are being directed towards having a motivated and competent team grow and achieve results, he said.

According to the MD Honda and Hero Honda motor-cycles have firmly established their presence in the two wheeler transportation sector. Honda has offered consumers, technically advanced - value for money products over the past few decades. The Honda consumers cover the entire population such as urban and rural, self-employed and professionals.

Six-thousand Hero Honda motor-cycles are being assembled per month at the Rattanapitiya motor-cycle assembling plant under the supervision of local technicians trained in Japan and India the Stafford Engineering and training centre which is also in the Rattanapitiya motor-cycle complex conducts one-and-a half year motor-cycle mechanism program.

It is a six-months theory and one-year on the job in house training program for youth who can join Stafford islandwide technical dealer network the Honda dealer network consists of more than 200 motor-cycle traders islandwide including the North and East.
