Sarath Mataraarachchi, new DC-Scout, Kandy

The newly appointed Kandy District Scout Commissioner Mr. Sarath Mat- araarachchi, will be felicitated by the Old Rajans Scout Association and the 1st Kandy Dharamaraja Scout Group at the Dunumadalawa Forest Office, Kandy today at 11 am.

Mataraarachchi, an old boy of Dharmaraja College, Kandy, joined the tutorial staff in 1977. No sooner he joined the staff he was appointed a Scout Leader of the College.

While in service as the Scout Leader, he successfully completed Phase I, II, III and IV training courses of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, was awarded the Wood Badge in the year 1981.

He was promoted as Assistant Leader Trainer in 1986 and was made Leader Trainer in 1995, was appointed Group Scout Leader of Dharmaraja in 1993, under his able guidance the school was awarded the All Island Merit Flag consecutively from 1993 to 2003.

Mr. Mataraarachchi followed the National Strategic Planning Workshop in 2003, National Strategic Planning Review Workshop in 2005, Sub Regional Workshop on Resources Development and Management in 2006 conducted by the Scout Bureau of Asia Pacific Region (APR) which he completed.
