CCC win Premier League title

CRICKET: CCC emerged Premier League cricket champions by virtue of a
first innings win over defending champions SSC at Maitland Crescent
yesterday.
In reply to CCC's 423 ,SSC were shot out 130 after being 90 for 5
overnight.
Nisal Randika produced a fine all round effort scoring 89 and taking
6 for 18 and also strking 97 in the second innings with ten fours facing
201 deliveries. Michael Vandort struck a fluent 134 in the first
innings.
CCC did not enforce the follow on and batted in the second innings
scoring 246 for 6 at close of play on day three in the four day contest.
Nisal Randika and Jehan Mubarak added 133 runs for the second wicket.
Now they are 539 runs ahead with 4 wickets in hand. Sachitra
Senanayake bowl best for SSC with 5 for 76.
