Talents 2007 on March 8 at the Bishop's College Auditorium
before a packed audience.
The Chief guest on the occasion was Mr. Kolitha Bhanu

Dissanayake, Senior Lecturer of the University of Visual and
Performing Arts.
The Chief guest accompanied by the Chairman/Managing Director of
Royal Institute International Schools, Mr. G.T. Bandara and senior
members of the staff lit the traditional oil lamp at the commencement of
the programme.
Realizing the value of different cultural, religious and ethnic
backgrounds of its students, Royal Institute planned the programme to
represent all ethnic backgrounds. The items, solo or group, consisted of
Oriental, Western and Maldivian dances, Japanese and Hindi songs as well
as a short drama depicting the 'Kuveni-Vijaya' episode. Among the other
items were the Kandyan dance and the Indian classical dance which were
outstanding performances.
The
audience was delighted to listen to a few melodious songs, including the
chief guest, Mr. Dissanayake who sang. In his short speech, Mr.
Dissanayake also stressed the need to encourage the younger generation
to uphold and appreciate our cultural values.
"Royal Talents 2007" was a grand success. |
