In all its golden splendour
Placing itself in Colombo's all
important dining network recently was the theme restaurant 'Agra'.
 Very
fittingly the opening ceremony had all the trimmings that went well with
its name, from cloth lanterns that adorned the giant tree at the
entrance to the restaurant to all the other minor details that went in
to give the event that all round North Indian touch to the theme which
represented the city of Agra was well thought out indeed.
Guests were treated to an opening round of rousing music by 'Cross
Culture' the newest sensation of the local music scene while cocktails
were served to guests whose eyes were focused on the bevy of beauties
seated by the pond gracing the interior of the restaurant.
The beauties gracefully draped in the all glamourous sari, worn in
both styles representing princesses of the nothern royal court and other
damsels from that era.
Lilting Indian classics were the order of the day during dinner time,
it was a splendid idea of 'Emphasis' which organised that evening to
welcome any royalty in case they decided to turn up. Wow! even they
would have been taken by surprise!
