Education through Art

Art teaching teaches a child to draw. Art education draws out a child's personality. So! would you like to have a pleasing picture on your wall or a happy confident child in your family?

If one goes down Sebal Avenue off High Level Road and turn left at Polhengoda Road then take the first right turn and another right one would arrive at the most joyous address in town.

The Cora Abraham Art Class is now located at this new vicinity away from the bustling city into a large sprawling premises where the youngsters can have the time of their life, if one would say so!

The school with a history of moulding a young minds into personality at a very tender age was initiated and started off by a lady who is yet held in high esteem within the art circle of Colombo though her reputation as a dedicated teacher is known by all of Sri Lanka.

Cora Abraham is still remembered for her dedicated service as a teacher that refreshed young minds into joining art classes for merely learning more than the art they would see on canvas or paper. To discover themselves through the mode of learning art.

To preserve their childhood with cherished memories of learning art and pouring into their future careers the sensitivity that they experienced in the process.

At Cora Abraham Art Classes children bring out the fun side of themselves out by communicating with children of their own age led by teachers trained to enjoy the company of children. The creative aspect is of a very high level because the entire exercise is based on self expression by a child rather than a teacher striving to teach art according to the book.

As these pictures show the idea of having fun is a part and parcel of the teaching process and children are putting their creative minds to work which eventually lead them to be more relaxed teenagers and even more tolerant adults looking at life with meaning and purpose.

Creating a happy child to live at home with is the basic theory at the Cora Abraham Art Classes, everything else will fall into place, it is believed.
