Intl. Forestry and Environment symposium in November
Papers of research findings are accepted for twelfth International
Forestry and Environment Symposium organised by Department of Forestry
and Environmental Science, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, to be held
from November 30 to December 1 in Kalutara. Papers can be submitted
electronically through the website of the symposium at http:/www.environmentlanka.com/sympo
The symposium provides a forum for researchers in the field of
Natural Resource Management to present their research findings, and
network with policy makers and industry.
This is the largest and oldest symposium on Environment in Sri Lanka,
conducted annually since 1995. Last year the symposium received 180
research abstract submissions from six countries and the final program
included 120 accepted papers.
The theme for the symposium is 'Green Solutions' and constitutes
parallel sessions focusing on areas such as Natural Resource Management,
Forest Resource Utilization, Biodiversity Conservation, Pollution
Control, Social, Economic and Legal Aspects, Biotechnology and
Bio-safety and Green Technologies in Industry.
