Gateway beat Asian International by five wkts

CRICKET: Gateway College beat Asian International School by five wickets in their under 17 Inter-International Schools Cricket Tournament at the Shalika grounds, Narahenpita. The tournament is conducted by Wycherley International School.

Asian International School: 123 for 8 wkts in 30 overs (Rehan Jayamaha 55 not out; Malith Silva 3 for 18, Damien Fleming 2 for 25, Dimuthu Abeygunawardena 2 for 25).

Gateway College: 125 for 5 wkts in 24 overs (Malith Silva 40, Ushan Kodagoda 31 not out; Renouk Mendis 2 for 15).

Gateway earlier figures in two 'no-decision' games which were spoilt by rain.

There was not a ball bowled in their game against British School.

Then against Alethea International School, Gateway made 150 for 5 wickets in 26 overs, with Ushan Kodagoda making 48 not out, Aadhil Niyas 37 and Damien Fleming 35; A. Ishak 3 for 16, S. Murugeshan 2 for 34.

Alethea made 20 for 1 wicket in 4 overs.
