CRICKET - Indika de Saram struck a rapid 59 off 51 balls with six boundaries and a six to guide Ragama CC to five wicket win over Tamil Union in their Rupavahini Premier Limited over cricket tournament at the BRC grounds yesterday

Moors in exciting two-wicket win over SSC

A fine all round performance from Dilhara Lokuhettige helped Moors SC score an exciting two wicket victory over SSC in their SLC Premier limited overs tournament Tier 'A' match played at Maitland Place yesterday.

SSC reached 191 for 8 from their 50 overs thanks to an unfinished ninth wicket stand of 105 runs between Kaushal Silva and Thilina Thushara. However Moors SC reached their target with nearly ten overs to spare with Dilhara Lokuhettige making a top score of 49.

SSC: 191 for 8 in 50 overs (K. Silva 72 n.o., T. Thushara 62 n.o., D. Lokuhettige 2 for 22, M. Ranjith 3 for 31, M. Lakmal 2 for 53).

Moors SC: 192 for 8 in 40.3 overs (B. Perera 40, A. Rideegammanagedera 33, D. Lokuhettige 49, N. Soysa 2 for 36, T. Thushara 2 for 39, S. Senanayake 2 for 17).

Mubarak pilots CCC to victory

Jehan Mubarak top scored with a fine half century (51 with 3 fours and a six) to help CCC to gain a comfortable seven wickets win over Baduraliya in their Premier Trophy limited over match at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

Baduraliya: 122 (V. Perera 24, H. Wickremaratne 27, G. Chandrakumara 3 for 40, R. Pushpakumara 2 for 16, A. Pollonowita 3 for 20).

CCC: 125 for 3 (J. Mubarak 51, D. K. Ranaweera 26, A. Pollonowita 24 n.o.)

Shanuka stars in Bloomfield win

Shanuka Dissanayake hit a well compiled half century (82 with a dozen boundaries) to guide Bloomfield to a 52 run win against NCC in their Premier Trophy limited over match at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Bloomfield: 208 (Shanuka Dissanayake 82, T. M. Dilshan 25, Prasanna Jayawardena 37, T. Fernando 2 for 33, C. Athukorale 2 for 16).
