Patriotic forces thwart sinister move
The government obtained a comfortable majority of
114 votes in favour of the Budget by defeating a concerted effort by the
UNP led opposition to defeat the budget to destabilise the government
and its efforts to liberate the people in the North from the clutches of
the LTTE, the PA General Secretary D. M. Jayaratne told the 'Sunday
