Sean Wijesinghe to lead Kandy

RUGBY: Former Trinity "Lion" and Kandy Sports Club crack wing forward Sean Wijesinghe will lead the champion outfit in the coming year. Further Kandy SC will be at full strength with only two of their players quitting the club to join CR & FC.

The former Kingswood player Mohamed Jabbar will be donning the Red Jersey in 2008. Dev Anand too will join him at CR & FC. Radhika Hettiarachchi who left the Kandy Sports Club two years ago will return to his home town club after his unhappy stint with the two Colombo clubs.

In the school circle St. Anthony's College will be under the watchful eyes of Nihal "Viper" Gunaratne. Meanwhile Trinity will have Anil Jayasinghe and Pradeep Basnayake as their first XV coaches for the coming year.

Rajans who qualified to the top division after a very good year in 2007 will miss Nilfer Ibrahim, Nilfer, the former Sri Lanka and Kandy SC player was contracted by his alma-mater last week.
