Ravi Subramaniam wins three titles

TENNIS: Former champion Ravi Subramaniam of Aitken Spence won three titles at the Mercantile Tennis Championships conducted by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) at the National Tennis Centre (NTC) in Greenpath. This was sponsored by NDB Bank.

Partnered by Aruna Seneviratne also of Aitken Spence, Subramaniam, won the men's doubles title beating Sohan Patrick and K. Kumarakulasigham in a three setter (6-7, 6-1, 6-2).

The same combination (Subramaniam and Seneviratne) also won the Men's over-35 doubles title beating I. Othman and G. Ghouse in straight sets (6-3, 6-4).

Subramaniam also won the men's over-45 singles title beating Gavin Perera of Sri Lankan Airlines quite comfortably in straight sets (6-1, 6-0).

Subramaniam and Seneviratne are also in the final of the men's over-45 doubles today (Sunday) and will be pitted against Errol Weeratunga and J. Bogollagama.
