Search for details of housemaid: Devika Muthulingam

The body of the Sri Lankan housemaid Devika Muthulingam (38), which was found near a roadside in Beirut, Lebanon last week will be brought to Sri Lanka after obtaining the relevant contact details of her family members here, Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE), Foreign Relations Manager L. K. Ruhunage said.

He said investigations to the death were being carried out by the Lebanese medical authorities on a request made by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Beirut.

At the time when the Beirut Police recovered the body, it was wrapped in a cloth and was in a semi decomposed state. According to her National Identity Card (NIC) which was in her possession, she was born in 1969 and was a resident of Matale. She had come to Lebanon in 2004.

The SLBFE requests any party in Sri Lanka to contact the Bureau Head Office at Denzil Kobbekaduwa Mawatha, Battaramulla.
