by Nilma Dole
On
the 20th of December 2007 a magical haven was revealed that would
astound any visitor to the resplendid isle of Sri Lanka. On the way to
Galle, the 'Temple Tree Resort and Spa' is easy to spot because it is
near the Podi Induruwa Railway Station.
This new boutique hotel offers relaxation and peace of mind making
you sink your soul in bliss. Sri Lanka Tourist Board Chairman Mr. Renton
De Alwis and former editor of the Sunday Observer, Mr. Mahindapala
officially declared the Temple Tree open by the traditional lighting of
the oil lamp.

Overlooking the pristine and unspoilt beach shores of Induruwa,
'Temple Tree' is where every traveller should seek shelter. Nestled
comfortably on Galle Road itself, its convenience makes it all the more
reason to stop and relax. Every room is tastefully designed to
perfection with Kithul timber flooring panels and a private Jacuzzi tub.
When you gaze from the balcony, you will notice a breath-taking view
of a cosy cottage and green foliage all around the vicinity. This
nature-friendly environment makes you feel right at home and invigorates
your senses to perfection.
CEO Hiran Houx has a German father and a Sri Lankan mother so by
combining his rich heritance, The Temple Tree was born. It was
architecturally designed by Mr. Vinod Jayasinghe who produced this
stunning masterpiece of a place with sheer brilliance and creativity,
the General Manager Mr. Marlon Mendis commented,

"It took 'Temple Tree' only 18 months to complete and has 10 private
suites that is an ideal destination for honeymooners and families". The
Temple Tree Executive Chef, Mr. Sudarshan makes sure that you eat belly
full as he whips up the most delicious dishes.

He counts over 20 years of experience in five-star hotels in the
Middle East and emphasized that, "I like to make my own original and
unique dishes with my knowledge so that the guests are treated to a wide
range of tastes."
The 'Temple Tree' collaborates with John Keels to market and make it
a much-visited destination. The hidden beauty of Induruwa is virtually
untapped because the tragic tsunami didn't affect its landscape. While
many think of only relaxation, the joy of discovering a new paradise
will make you return to this wonderful haven again and again.
The Managing Director Ravi Liyanage and his secretary ensure that
guests have a memorable time at the 'Temple Tree Resort and Spa'.
