ITB to project Lanka as 'A land like no other'
by Hiran H. Senewiratne
Sri Lanka Tourism will re-introduce the island destination in keeping
with their familiar and much loved theme "A land like no other' at the
International Tourism Exchange (ITB) from March 5 to 9 at Berlin in
Germany.
ITB is considered the largest global event for the Travel Industry
promoting domestic, inter-regional and International travel throughout
the world. More than 50 organisations including leading travel, tourism
and leisure sector companies will participate.
These companies will organise major campaigns during the event to
promote Sri Lanka as a safe travel destination in the region, a top
official of Sri Lanka Tourism said. This year the Sri Lanka stall will
be more open and inviting to the visitor having adopted an open concept
enabling visitors to make easier and more intense contacts with Sri
Lankan trade representatives as well as some of the varied attractions
of the island nation.
There will be common area booths arranged in a more relaxed
atmosphere with lounge areas for meetings and discussions with various
attractions of the island depicted on large blow-ups suspended high from
the ceiling. The usual facilities for one-to-one meetings and Internet
access for the exhibitors to download their e-mails direct at the
pavilion will be provided. |
