Professional Achiever program launched

A tailor-made certificate course in finance titled "Professional Achiever program" was launched in Colombo last week to attract professionals and non professionals in to the financial fold. Several top corporate officials were present. The certificate course had been designed by the Achievers Lanka Business School.

Chairman, Achievers Business School, Ravi Edirisinghe said with the introduction of the certificate course in business, a new trend has been created in financial education. "We strongly believe the program will facilitate organisations to further strengthen their corporate strategy." There are discussions to bring professionals together as it had become necessary for everyone to have a knowledge in business matters.

He said the challenges faced by senior managers was to acquire, develop and retain human talent to drive businesses aggressively to achieve set targets. Organisations seek individuals with rounded knowledge who think differently from others. Although such talent was rare it was possible to find them in Sri Lanka, he said.

CEO/Managing Director, Faris Ismail said that his vision was to build a business school that has a recognition of the corporate sector. Achievers Lanka Business School commenced on April 1, 2006.

Achievers is the only Business school that has a special program for young achievers starting their professional career soon after the ordinary level. This was the Young Achievers CIMA Foundation program, a tailor-made course for young achievers with added inputs. The Professional Achiever is a study program to prepare young executives for CIMA examinations.

The program is the brainchild of Faris Ismail who has more than 15 years experience in the field of financial education. The program is the first of its kind to prepare young students for CIMA examinations.
