Poet, Poetry and God
I purged my mind
Now it contains nothing
It is as empty as
A hollow bamboo
I allowed God to flow through myself
I sensed God creeping
Slowly in to my mind
He brought something unknown
He uttered something
Absolutely fresh
He took the possession of myself
I pour poetic words of feelings
Which God wants me to convey
I can see what you haven't seen
I hear what you haven't heard
I become more creative
I am a poet
When I write
It is not me
It is God
Who utters words to me
And I just jot down
What he utters

"A creative person is one who has insight, who can see things nobody
else has ever seen before, who hears things that nobody has heard
before. Then there is creativity"
"Creativity means bringing the new in to existence, making a way for
the unknown, making a way for the sky to come on earth"
- Osho -
What does creativity really mean? A new creation means a fresh thing
which has never come in to an existence. If it is already existing, it
can't be a creation but a repetition of some other thing. Today what
everyone does is copying what someone has done earlier.
People are afraid to invent new things and think innovatively.
Because they are fearful that people might perceive their new creation
in a wrong and misunderstanding way. A scholar once said that great
artistes and poets are mad. Because their thinking capacity is far
beyond the ordinary.
They create things the others have not created. When people see a
totally strange thing they tend to look at it in a wrong angle. Then
indeed people will say " That person has gone mad". That is why people
are afraid to be creative, to discover something different lest they
will appear foolish.
Creativity and autonomy
Creativity requires autonomy. If you need to be creative, you can't
cling to other people's view points or attitudes. You should have your
own freedom to manifest your own creation. You can't create any novel
thing under restriction. If you are under restrictions, that will hinder
your creativity of revealing unique things which no one has seen or
heard earlier.
I read in a book The creative person always go on trying the wrong
ways. If you always try the right way to do things, you will never be
creative. Because the right way means the way discovered by others.
According to that wise saying, a person to create new things, he
should tread in the path where others have not kept their foot print
yet. Those paths will be anew to others and they will say "he is going
in the wrong path" or "he is mad".
That is because they are ignorant of innovative ways. Those who say
that type of things are either lazy to invent things or their habit of
sticking to old rancid and already existing manners.
They are reluctant to accept new things out of fear of them. Those
who cannot see things from a different view will wait till someone does
something new, not only they are waiting but also try to throw cold
water on them. They are also unaware of creativity.
They are unable to look at things in a broad angle and have no
broader spectrum of knowledge.
People who do not possess the aptitude of creating new things might
condemn your creation at the beginning. When they get accustomed to it
later or when similar types of conceptions are emerging they would be
predisposed to accept your novel creation. At the beginning they might
call you a fool.
The freedom to produce new things is a very important aspect in the
process of creating new things. To be creative you do not have to adhere
to one particular rule or method or wrong or correct way. You have to go
on seeking different directions and you have to be multi dimensional.
You will learn something new, experience something different. So, you
can come out with a novel creation which is not a repetition of an
earlier creation. It will be refreshing and ravishing. It will be a
unique creation which no one has been able to produce before. Isn't that
the real creativity? Real creativity doesn't comprise repetitive work.
Walking in the unknown
Creativity means novel, new, original, fresh and hitherto unknown.
You just have to explore what that unknown is.
You should walk in to the unknown in order to bring the unknown to
the known. The true creativity is in the unknown. Nothing but the
repetitiveness is present in the already known and existing.
To copy someone else's creation is analogous to exhuming a dead body,
removing putrefied parts and filling it with essential parts to make a
human being. As it has no liveliness and freshness, the repetitive work
is not endowed with fresh indentation.
The real creativity is analogous to giving birth to a new child which
has not existed initially.
Imagine if all film directors made similar types of films theatres
will be void of any audience. If all musicians compose songs with
similar sample, fans will get fed up. If all artists draw similar
pictures, doubtlessly art exhibitions would bring no profit.
If there is a variety and exclusiveness among every creation, people
will always long for them. Real creativity means giving rise to things
which no eye has seen before, no ear has heard before and no hand has
touched before.
"Be a little innovative, that's what creativity is. Innovate new
ways, new means. Try something new that nobody has ever done. The
greatest creativity happens in people whose training is of some other
discipline". |
