Obtains Doctorate
Ajantha Dharmasiri, a faculty member and a management consultant of
the Postgraduate Institute of Management, has successfully obtained his
PhD degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenapura.
His doctoral research topic was “Strategic orientation of HR managers
in South Asia” which was sponsored by Commonwealth AMDISA doctoral
scholarship for 2007.
His international supervisor, Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan from the
Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore highly recommended his
doctoral thesis, which was endorsed by the external examiner, Prof.
Traci Carte from the University of Oklahoma USA.
Having received his primary education at St. Joseph’s College,
Colombo and secondary education at Royal College, Colombo, Ajantha
obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of
Moratuwa, and an MBA with a Merit from the Postgraduate Institute of
Management, University of Sri Jayewardenapura.
As an emerging academic scholar, he has attended several research
conferences, in London, Sydney, Singapore, Dhaka, New Delhi, Hyderabad,
Bangalore and Colombo in presenting papers.
He has published articles in local and foreign journals. He won the
gold medal for the best paper in management studies at the tenth
anniversary International Symposium organised by the Sabaragamuwa
University of Sri Lanka in July 2006. |
