Samira Colombage - good in sports and studies
Throwball: A star has emerged in netball and throwball. She is
Samira Kalpani Colombage of St. Joseph's Balika Vidyalaya, Kegalle. She
is fast becoming a star as she concentrates a lot in the two sports.
Samira has represented Sri Lanka Schools in throwball and netball. In
2006, Samira represented Sri Lanka Schools in the International Netball
Tournament held in Glenn Waverly, Australia. Then in the same year, she
was the vice-captain of the Sri Lanka throwball team that won the Silver
Medal in the tourney held in Malaysia.
In the triangular throwball tourney between India, Thailand and Sri
Lanka in 2007 held in Thailand, she captained the Sri Lanka team that
won the Silver Medal.
Right now, she is still the captain of the throwball team. In
addition to he exploits in throwball, Samira is the Games Captain of St.
Joseph's Balika Vidyalaya, Kegalle and Prefect too. Besides netball and
throwball, she has also done well in her studies and has passed both the
G.C.E. Ordinary Level and Advanced Level Examinations with good results. |
