New SLITHM Chairman

Bernard Goonatilake, Sri Lanka's former Ambassador to the United States of America succeeded H.M.G.S. Pallihakkara as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM) from August 1.

Goonatilake, a senior diplomat and former Secretary to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs had a distinguished career as a public servant, serving as Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, and to the United Nations in Geneva among other significant posts.

More recently he has been acting Ambassador to the United Nations in New York which followed his appointment as the first Secretary General to the Secretariat for the Coordination of the Peace Process (SCOPP).
