Junior Badminton Nationals from November 12 to 16

The Sri Lanka Badminton Association will conduct the Junior National Provincial Badminton Championships from August 15 to October 31, 2008 in the provinces and the Junior National Badminton Championships from November 12 to 16, 2008 at SLBA Stadium, Colombo. The main sponsor of the tournaments is the Ministry of Sports and Public Recreation with Sri Lanka Telecom and Yonex-Sunrise as the co-sponsors.

The Junior National Badminton Championships is being played for the first time on a provincial level and the events to be worked off are boys and girls under 11 singles, boys and girls under 13 singles and doubles, boys and girls under 15 singles and doubles, boys and girls under 17 singles and doubles, boys and girls under 19 singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

The winners, runners-up, third placed and fourth placed players of the provincial tournament will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals and will also receive certificates and cash awards.

The winners, runners-up, third placed and fourth placed players of the provincial tournament will qualify to play in the Junior Nationals from November 12 to 16 at the SLBA Stadium, Colombo. The winners, runners-up, third placed and fourth placed players of the Junior Nationals will also receive gold, silver and bronze medals in addition to certificates and cash awards.
