UGC to admit 119 rejected students

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to admit 119 rejected students to universities after considering their appeals, said Chairman UGC, Prof. Gamini Samaranayaka.

The UGC rejected these students because they had registered in higher educational institutions for diplomas which is against the rules and regulations of the university entrance.

Samaranayaka said the UGC obtained the Attorney General's ruling in this regard and decided to admit 119 students of over 800 who had appealed.
