Rajans get ready for upcoming cricket season

CRICKET: Dharmaraja College held its annual residential cricket coaching camp from August 13 to 15 at Lake View grounds, Kandy.

The Principal of Dharmaraja College - S. M. Keerthiratne, Sarath mataraarachchi (P.O.G.), K. M. Seneviratne (M.I.C.) organised the coaching camp and Sarath Ekanayake was the co-ordinating Secretary.

Lectures and practicals were given by reputed coaches, i.e. Bernard Perera, Chaminda Kodikara, Senaka Dissanayake, Ananda Wijesekera, Gamini Debahapuwa and Upanada Jayasundera.

The techniques in batting, bowling and fielding were covered in details and the rules and regulations in the game were ‘covered’ by Lalith Kapugedera - Secretary, Central Province Cricket Umpires Association. Former Rajans fast bowler Mahinda Pethiyagoda spoke on fast bowling and Dr. Vajira Jayasinghe spoke on prevention of sports injuries.
