Musaeus College turns up trumps at Indian regatta

ROWING: Musaeus College girls did not disappoint their fans as they
not only won the Senior Girls Fours and Sculls and what's more, the
girls from Musaeus also were awarded the trophy for the Best Disciplined
Team too at the BRC International School Regatta held in Kolkatta,
India.
The girls from Musaeus College have been at this regatta from
inception of this contest and this was their third visit to India - and
what a fine performance from them! Musaeus had a team of 15 girls and
they had three Fours teams and from them they had 4 scullers, a junior
Fours team and two senior Fours teams and 2 scullers from each category.
The Senior Fours won the Gold and Bronze.
While the Junior Fours won the Silver Medal. The two senior Scullers
Swarnamali Wijesinghe and Sachitra Jayathilake were able to win Gold and
Silver medals.
Last year too Musaeus College were successful in winning the Gold and
Silver medals in the Fours Event and they won the Silver Medal in the
Sculling event.
From the Indian sides City Outfit South Point were also successful in
winning two events - the junior boys and girls Fours at the regatta.
There were around 42 schools that participated in the regatta. Schools
from India, Pakistan, UAE and Sri Lanka participated.
Senior Girls Sculls: Gold by Swarnamali Wijesinghe, Silver: Sachitra
Jayathilake. Senior Girls Fours - Gold: Sachitra Jayathilake, Rashmi
Kodikara, Swarnamali Wijesinghe, Vinuri Jayasundara, Sanjeevani
Kularatne.
Senior Girls Fours - Bronze: Dilhara Rupasinghe, Ranmali Jayarathne,
Samanmali Gurusinghe, Chalani Ramanayake, Danushri Welikala.
Junior Girls Fours - Silver: Subashini Kularatne, Ishika de Silva,
Ravindra Kumarasinghe, Vinuri Wickramasekara, Nathira Wijemanne. |
