Sashan Silva and Kusal Janith put Colts on top

Colts Cricket Club have taken a first innings lead of 34 runs with 9 wickets in hand in their under 23 division one cricket tournament match against Lankan C.C. at Havelock Park yesterday. The match will be continued today.

Put into bat Lankan C.C. were out for 129 and Colts CC made 163 runs for one wicket at close of play. It was a 156-run unbeaten second wicket partnership that put Colts in a sound position.

Sashan Silva (63 not out) and Kusal Janith (83 not out) helped Colts C.C. to this sound position with their unbeaten second-wicket partnership of 156 runs.

Lankan CC: 129 in 35.5 overs (Suranga Perera 40, N. Adama 22, Thisara Perera 4 for 44, Rajeev Weerasinghe 2 for 18, Anjela Perera 2 for 18).

Colts C.C.: 163 for 1 wkt (Sashan Silva 63 not out, Kusal Janith 83 not out).
