Navantis completes more CSR projects

Navantis has successfully completed several community projects from its inception, including the recently concluded two projects in 2008 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

Navantis IT (Pvt) Ltd., a Canadian based software development company, has had its development centre in Sri Lanka since December 2004.

Navantis mainly engages in Information Technology (IT) Services, Technical advisory and support facilities to its large Northern American clientele. The Navantis team worked hard to uplift their fellow citizens' living conditions and health care by renovating a rural hospital at Parasangaswewa in the Anuradhapura district.

This is the only hospital in the area providing medical assistance for more than twenty villages surrounding Parasangaswewa.

Navantis renovated this hospital as a community project after considering many reasons.

The hospital needed improvements with regard to the environment, beds, wards, bathrooms and toilet facilities. These improvements were vital to carry out its services in the male, female wards, maternity unit and OPD.

The villagers also provided support for this project and the Doctor in charge of the hospital played a major role in terms of assisting Navantis in planning the project, gathering the beneficiaries for co-operation and implementing the project. The most essential hospital equipment/items were also donated by Navantis.

Another significant contribution made by Navantis team to the community, was the creation of a web portal primarily in English for the Lanka Alzheimer's Foundation (LAF). LAF is an approved charity volunteer based community organisation to improve the quality of life of those with Alzheimer's and related disorders. Already there had been a positive feedback about the content of this portal from the local and international community who are conscious about this epidemic.
