Traps in strategic decision making
CIMA Sri Lanka Division said that Prof. Paul Goodwin is due to visit
Sri Lanka next month. Prof. Goodwin will conduct two workshops on topics
which are of immense value in driving businesses in this competitive
environment.
Prof. Goodwin will lead a half day Mastercourse “Traps in strategic
decision making and how to avoid them” on October 15.
The program is aimed at Directors and Senior Managers who are
responsible for strategic decisions, Managers who have a role in
supporting major company decisions and public sector decision makers.
Prof. Goodwin will speak on “Improve your sales forecasting accuracy”
on October 16.
‘Creating a successful business’
The 29th National Conference of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) will be held from October 10-11 at the
Cinnamon Grand Hotel. The ceremonial inauguration will take place on
October 9 under the patronage of Alok Prasad, High Commissioner of India
with Rajan Asirwatham, the former Precedent Partner of KPMG Ford Rhodes
Thornton and Co., as Keynote Speaker.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Re-imagine - creating a
successful business in challenging times by thinking differently”.
Dr. Uditha Liyanage, Director, Postgraduate Institute of Management,
Colombo, Rustom Jilla, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer, Ansell Limited, USA, Phillip Satish Rao, Partner, Business Risk
Services, Ernst and Young, Malaysia and Brendan Murtagh, Deputy
President, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United
Kingdom will address the sessions.
The Way Forward
Rohantha Athukorale will be the guest speaker for TMC’s (The
Management Club) presentation titled “The Way Forward for Sri Lanka
Inc... amidst a costly conflict”) on Tuesday September 30 at 6.30 p.m.
