Troops advance towards destination
Troops of 59 Division advanced towards their destination, Mullaithivu
built-up, while conducting further consolidating operations in recently
liberated areas, defence sources in Mullaittiuvu front said. Sporadic
clashes between troops and LTTE terrorists reported in the north of
Kumbulamunai yesterday.

Tight security for five star hotels
Security measures at five star hotels in the high security zone in
Colombo have been tightened following the deadly terrorist attack on the
Trident/Oberoi, the Taj Hotel and at other institutions in Mumbai last
week that killed 160 persons, a spokesman for the Sri Lanka Tourism

torrential monsoon rains created a lull in the battlefronts, both in
Wanni and the North as the entire Wanni was flooded for the past six
days particularly after three days of incessant rains poured into
the area along with stormy winds caused due to disturbances in the
