He said driving affordability and availability of services is one of the top concerns of the company's marketing strategies in the country.

Bharti Airtel, the flagship company of Bharti Enterprises India will launch its services in Sri Lanka shortly under the Airtel brand.

Kapoor said the company will offer a wide range of facilities to its local and international customers at a competitive price to ensure value for money for the services.

Airtel will invest approximately US$ 200 million in the Sri Lankan market to set up and expand its services. The investment will span five years from the award of the licence in April 2007.

"The company will use a major share of the investment in the initial 12-18 months as it will be the time to aggressively set up operations", he said.

Bharti has a talented and diverse team which has done a great job in setting up operations.

The company works with world renowned partners such as IBM for Information Technology and Huawei for the network. "Bharti since its inception has been in the forefront of technology and has steered the course of the telecom sector in India with its products and services", Kapoor said.

Bharti Airtel is India's largest integrated and first private telecom services provider with a footprint in all 23 telecom circles.

The Bharti Group has a diverse business portfolio and has created global brands in the telecommunication sector.

The company recently forayed into retail business under an MoU with Wal-Mart for the cash and carry business.

The company operates three business units, mobile services, Airtel telemedia services and enterprise services. The mobile business provides mobile and fixed wireless services using GSM technology across 23 telecom circles.
