Responsible reporting by media vital - Bogollagama

Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama emphasized the need for the media to report news and information with responsibility.

The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of the orientation program for media personnel attached to the Parliament at the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute recently. He said that it was the first time that an orientation program for media personnel was held by the Foreign Ministry. The Minister said that he was happy to be associated with the program since he was aware of the professionalism with which the media has been reporting proceedings of the Parliament, since his entry into Parliamentary politics in 2000.
