Baduraliya fight back

Baduraliya CC trailing by a massive first innings deficit of 234 runs, fought back to score 199 for 3 at stumps on day two of their Premier League Tier ‘A’ match continued at the Khettarama Stadium yesterday. For Baduraliya CC Dilshan Vitharana top-scored with a superb 112, while Chanaka Vithanage made 62. Bloomfield, who resumed at 223 for 6, were bowled out for 297 with Chamara Silva holding the lower-half together with a workmanlike 100.

Baduraliya CC: 63 all out (Chanaka Vithanage 18, Alankara Asanka 15, Tharanga Lakshitha 2 for 20, Nuwan Pradeep 4 for 19, Tyron Gamage 2 for 11) and 199 for 3 wkts at close (D.Vitharana 112, C.Vithanage 62).

Bloomfield: 297 all out (Thilina Masmulla 21, Saman Jayantha 106, Yohan De Silva 35, Chamara Silva 100, D.Arnolda 3 for 43, A.Ratnayake 3 for 29).


Ragama take first innings lead

Ragama CC has already secured a first innings lead against Moors SC on the second day in their Premier League cricket match played at the NCC grounds, Maitland Place yesterday.

In reply to Ragama’s 279 , Moors were all out for 206 in their first innings and Ragama CC were 46 for 3 in their second essay at the end of the second day’s play with an overall lead of 119 runs with seven second innings wickets in hand.

Indika de Saram who was unbeaten on 102 overnight with the score reading 237 for 7, was responsible to see his team reaching 279. He faced 151 deliveries and had 11 boundaries in his innings.

Nizam Mazahir was the top scorer for Moors with an useful 60 facing 79 deliveries with six fours while Hasantha Fernando was second best with a well compiled 39.Dharshana Gamage and Dinesh Daminda were the chief wicket takers for Ragama.

Saracens hit back

CRICKET: Spinner Malinga Pushpakumara snapped up four wickets for 36 runs as Saracens SC after having conceded first innings points came back strongly to dismiss Sri Lanka Police SC for 112 in their second innings on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match continued at the Police Park yesterday.

Police SC: 165 and 112 (R. Kumara 30, R. Jinan 51, A. Janoda 3 for 32, M. Pushpakumara 4 for 36).

Saracens SC: 98 (S.Pussegolla 21 n.o., M. Jayawardena 2 for 15, L. Manoj 2 for 29, M. Priyadarshana 2 for 4, R. Jinan 2 for 24) and 57 for 2 (K. Bodhisha 24 n.o.)


Lankan CC 235 for 7

Two fighting half centuries from Janaka Wannakuwatte (59) and Raju Gayashan (64) helped Lankan CC reach 235 for 7 in their first innings on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match against Lankan CC continued at Katunayae yesterday.

Moratuwa SC: 337 (H. de Silva 135, S. Roshan 46 n.o, P. Hewage 5 for 60, C. Perera 2 for 95).

Lankan CC: 235 for 7 (T. Rajaratne 48, S. Silva 28, J. Wannakuwatte 59, R. Gayashan 64, C. Fernando 2 for 42, S. Perera 2 for 33, S. Fernando 2 for 46).


Singha take first innings lead

Singha SC Ambalangoda put up a tremendous batting performance to snatch a close six runs first innings lead over BRC on the second day of their high scoring SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match continued at Havelock Park yesterday.

BRC: 295 (G. Perera 101 n.o, S. Vithana 4 for 76, N. Liyanage 3 for 71) and 84 for 3 (D. Sandagirigoda 20, M. Fernando 31 n.o, P. Seneviratne 21).

Air Force on top

Two good half centuries from Madawa Warnapura (72) and Suwanji Madanayake (57) helped Sri Lanka Air Force SC take a first innings lead of 63 runs over Sebastianites SC on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match continued at Moratuwa yesterday.

Sebastianites SC: 179 and 115 for 8 (U. Peiris 26, Y. de Silva 3 for 29, S. Madanayake 3 for 17).

Air Force SC: 242 (M. Warnapura 72, S. Madanayake 57, P. Jayasundera 4 for 69, D. Munaweera 3 for 27).
